Heirloom Craft, Cut Strictly to You.
"Bespoke at Mehmooda Aftab is an intimate dialogue between patron and generational artisan — where centuries of subcontinental needlecraft are sculpted to your individual grace."
From bridal lehengas to custom-dyed festive formals, each bespoke commission is drafted individually, hand-traced with metallic wire, and finished by hand.
The Atelier Journey
Five Stages of Creation
Every bespoke commission proceeds through an exacting sequence of craftsmanship, fittings, and artisan milestones.
Studio 7-C or Virtual Diaspora Session
Private Consultation
Begin with an intimate one-on-one session with our senior atelier design team at Bukhari Commercial, Karachi, or via private video link for our overseas diaspora patrons. We discuss your upcoming celebrations, silhouette vision, preferred palette, and heirloom inspirations.
Archival Silks, Hand Swatches & Motifs
Design & Textile Selection
We curate pure natural fibers from our archival collection: 80g pure raw silk, handwoven tissue brocades, and fine katan silks. Our master sketch artists illustrate your custom neckline, sleeve proportions, and hand-embroidery placement with dabka, vasli, and marori samples.
Anatomical Precision & Master Draft
Measurements & Commission
Over 28 precise body measurements are drafted by our master cutter. Upon agreement on the custom design specifications, the bespoke commission is formalized with an initial advance payment to commission our generational artisan karigars.
Toile Drape & Embroidery Alignment
The First Fitting
Experience the preliminary structural fit. For bridal and grand formal commissions, a toile or preliminary drape ensures waistlines, shoulder fall, and embroidery borders align seamlessly to your posture before final assembly.
Heirloom Finishing & White-Glove Dispatch
Final Fitting & Delivery
Your completed ensemble undergoes quality inspection at Studio 7-C. Following final styling adjustments, your garment is hand-pressed, wrapped, and dispatched by tracked courier. Delivery charges apply.
Pure Natural Fibers & Generational Needlework.
We reject synthetic blends in our bespoke couture. Every garment begins with 100% natural mulberry silks, hand-twisted zari bullion wire, real seed pearls, and authentic vasli relief embroidery that matures with grace across generations.

Guidance
Bespoke Inquiries & Policies
How far in advance should I book my bespoke bridal commission?
We recommend reserving your bridal commission 3 to 6 months prior to your wedding dates. For festive formals and luxury prêt, our typical bespoke timeline ranges from 4 to 8 weeks depending on handwork complexity.
Can I book a bespoke consultation if I live outside Pakistan?
Yes. Over 40% of our bespoke patrons reside across the UK, USA, Canada, UAE, and Australia. We conduct comprehensive video appointments via WhatsApp, provide guided measurement video tutorials, and maintain continuous digital photo updates as your garment is embroidered.
What are the payment terms for bespoke commissions?
Bespoke commissions require an initial advance payment upon sketch approval to reserve artisan time and procure pure silks, with the balance payable prior to final dispatch. Exact milestone terms are provided in your bespoke consultation proposal.
Can an existing design from the collection be customized in a different color?
Yes. Many collection silhouettes can be tailored in custom colorways selected from our silk swatches.
